Forged in the Dark port for the Eclipse Phase RPG

So I love the world building of Eclipse Phase. It is one of those settings, that is full of wonderful and thought provoking element. Political, technological, scientific.

This video might give you a rough idea of the world. It is very biased and tongue in cheek, as far as I can tell:

But the original system is very crunchy. Especially the character creation is a thing of legend. It just took ages to decide where to put points into skills. And the you started kitting out the character. There are a lot of things to choose.

A couple of years there was an official port to the Fate RPG. But while I personally really like what what is trying to do and mostly succeeds (imho), it just so doesn't mesh with the group I play with.

The last thing I ran was Blades in the Dark. And it is a thing of beauty. There is so much that I have to say about it. And there is a lot that has been said in a lot of places. For me Blades in the Dark just works! It let's me bring all my ideas to the table. I never overextend. By that I mean that I can describe any situation and the game let's me process the dramatic scenes that follow from the players reactions without further preparation. I don't have to set the mechanics aside, the mechanics give me a stable basis to side the story along and the book provides oodles of analysis paralysis breaking spreads.

To me these properties are what is needed to make the world of eclipse phase come to life without the ship being perpetually on the verge of capsizing.
